After the last sky - Dopo l'ultimo cielo
After the Last Sky is the somewhat moving story of a friendship between three women, the Palestinian Nahide and the Israelis Shlomit and Ainat who are brought together by the painful and senseless destruction of the Arab village Kfir Bir’im by the Jerusalem army. Shlomit and Ainat come from the kibbutz built amid the rubble of the village, while Nahida has had to abandon her country occupied by Israeli forces. Once the three protagonists meet they do everything in their power to help the inhabitants of the Palestinian village to return to what remains of their homes.
Il regista / The Director
Alia Arasouglhy is Palestinian, a film director and sociologist particularly interested in the evolution of the media. She is the director of the Sashat cinema, and as from 2005, the Sashat’s Women’s Film Festival. In 1993 she began directing shorts and medium-length films including Hay mish eishi (2001), which has been presented at a number of international festivals.
