CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

Pinocchio Nero

The Black Pinocchio

The film is about a group of boys from the streets of Nairobi and their emancipation through the theatre, which reveals they have some aspects in common with Pinocchio.The documetary by Angelo Loy is the report on a project by the Teatro delle Briciole from Parma and the director Marco Baliani, together with AMREF; it is followed step by step from the first workshop in Nairobi, to the show’s debut in Italy in 2004: it portrays a true back-stage story of an initiation journey through moments of success, crisis and growth.

Il regista / The Director

After carrying out research work at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome, Angelo Loy has dedicated himself to social work and the making of documentary films. Among other things he has worked at the backstages for the films by Emanuele Crialese (Once we were strangers and Respiro), the documentary on ethical finance Manifesto per un’altra finanza and TV-Slum, il film dei ragazzi di strada, which is a documentary made by eight street boys in Nairobi.
