So where's the problem? It's a provocative question because there is no problem. The sea level will rise and change our lives. The planet will have its revenge and we will just have to live with that, finally taking the environment seriously. Today's alarm about the threat of rising ocean levels belies the real concern that we will have to change our bad habits. More and more, in a world beset by continuing upheavals, contemporary art is being enlisted to describe the reality surrounding artists. So it is not rare to encounter works that reflect our weaknesses: ecological art explores a complex system of interrelationships that compose, animate and sometimes deteriorate our biosphere. "No Problem" – 15 tablets on show supported by video material describe a submerged Turin. A catastrophe, a word whose meaning has been etymologically corrupted, so that it now denotes something negative, with connotations of loss and destruction. Its original meaning referred, instead, to continuous, gradual variation: a phenomenon able to produce a marked effect or change. The flood shown on the tablets is merely a breaking point, the triggering of an uncontrollable chain of events, like a turning point or a crisis, like a new incipit. There's no problem with starting anew, having learned from one's errors.
