Inextricably tied to environmental issues are working conditions and the right to safety and health at work. The forces of economic globalization have generated unprecedented pressures on livelihood security, quality of life, and protection against occupational exposure to risk of injury and work-related diseases and accidents.

In collaboration with Amnesty International
First held in 2006 in collaboration with Amnesty International Italy, the intent of this section is to underline how closely misuse of the environment is connected with violation of human rights and that the right to a healthy, integral environment needs to be considered as a human right.
This international film section features meet-the-experts talks with films that use innovative language to explore environmental issues. In addition, special focus initiatives and guest festivals from around the world are presented.
This series of readings on environmental topics by book authors will be held at the Circolo dei Lettori, Turin, in collaboration with major Italian publishers. Refreshments to follow.
