"In Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, men and animals have a strange and fascinating relationship. By filming the town and its animals, we would like to communicate the religious link and the profound meaning of the presence of animals roaming free amongst the human beings of the town, in this conception of the world which from time immemorial gives a real place to the animal. For us, it is a mean of humbly getting a foot in the fabulous and complex Indian civilisation. In our Western world, until cars appeared on the scene, our town were inhabited by animals and human beings. Probably nostalgic for our past and our roots we were very moved by the animals in Jaipur living so intensely with the humans. We accuse our big "modern" Western cities inhabited by stressed and depressed peolple. We feel that by showing another way of life could teach to humans, as well as declares a Brahmin: No animals, no Paradise."

Frédérich Gonseth directed his first documentary (Historie du franc suisse) in 1989. Since that time he has directed 14 diocumentaries about different themes, especially dedicated to ex Soviet Union republics: Escapade moldave (1991), L'Ukraine à petits pas (1992), Géorgie (1997).
Among the others documentaries there are also the TV series Longue oreilles (1995 and 1998) and Les sous-hommes ont une mémoire (1999), about memory.
