CinemAmbiente in cooperation with Circoscrizione VI - Torino, organizes the film exhibition 'Ecokids 2011', screenings for the primary schools of the city. All the events will be introducedby an environmental expert.
After freshly hatching from a nest of acquatic tortoise eggs on a Florida beach, a little turtle begins her lengthy journey, along with thousands of her kind, on which she will be swept by the Gulf Stream up into the icy North Atlantic, then ride ocean currents on her way down to the African tropics, before she returns to her birthplace where she will lay her own eggs. The film follows the turtle’s perilous route (one out of ten thousand is the survival rate), illustrating the profound changes affecting the environment due to climate change and global warming.
Nick Stringer is a director for Big Wave Productions, one of the major production companies of animal and scientific documentaries; he has also conducted television shows on natural history and science for the BBC and National Geographic.
