CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

In lovable blue

The myth of Orestes, who, after killing his mother, is persecuted by the Erinyes, tells of a new social and legal order, ending the archaic rule of blood revenge and beginning the rule of democracy in which reason prevails over arbitrary violence. In this reworking of the drama, the new rule sanctions male-patriarchal power and order based again on the abuse of power and exploitation of the earth. Calabria, both beautiful and desolate, once part of Magna Grecia, provides the ideal setting for illustrating the contradictions of present day society.

Il regista / The Director

Felice D’Agostino and Arturo Lavorato, jointly with Angelo Maggio, made their directorial debut with the documentary La gente dell’albero. With Il canto dei nuovi emigranti they won the Doc prize at the 2005 Torino Film Festival and the Casa Rossa Doc prize at the Bellaria Film Festival.
