CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

Cowboys in India

Can a major industrial company help a community through business-based social responsibility? To answer this question, Simon Chambers went to Orissa, a remote region in India where Vedanta, a British mining company, is planning to drill a mountain sacred to the area, justifying the decision that the project will bring benefit to the inhabitants of a nearby village. But not everyone agrees and some are ready to take up arms to defend their venerated natural patrimony. Aided by two local guides, Chambers launches an enquiry with unexpected ironic implications.

Simon Chambers, British filmmaker, made his first film Every Good Marriage Begins with Tears (2006), which as been shown at numerous festival. Cowboys in India was previewed at the International Documentary Film Festival, Amsterdam.
