CinemAmbiente in cooperation with Circoscrizione VI - Torino, organizes the film exhibition 'Ecokids 2011', screenings for the primary schools of the city. All the events will be introducedby an environmental expert.
The life of little Sosuke proceeds normally until a goldfish named Ponyo very much resembling a human emerges from the sea. The two soon form a friendship; and despite Ponyo's father's strong misgivings, Ponyo decides to turns herself into a human by means of a filter that alters the marine balance. Sosuke will have to set things right again by overcoming a series of difficult tasks. A girl and a boy, love and responsibility, the sea and life: master of Japanese animation films, Hayao Miyazaki foregoes computer graphics, using instead over 170,000 pencil drawings, to tell this touching tale of man and nature.
Author of immensely engaging images, Hayao Miyazaki uses the fable to portray a reality imbued with magic and metaphor, along with subversive criticism of militarism and uncontrolled progress, for example. Works to his credits include Spirited Away (2001), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Festival, and the 2003 Oscar for animation. Miyazaki's style is legendary; he won the career award at the 2005 Venice Film Festival.
