CinemAmbiente in cooperation with Circoscrizione VI - Torino, organizes the film exhibition 'Ecokids 2011', screenings for the primary schools of the city. All the events will be introducedby an environmental expert.
In a world where man has abused the environment, depleted its resources, and ruined its beauty, many try to carve out an existence amidst inhospitable settings or take refuge from modern society in far away places. In this farsighted documentary-enquiry, Carlo Alberto Pinelli and Folco Quilici seek out these fugitives and their hermitages: a couple leave their prestigious professions and affluent life behind to raise their son in the New Mexico mountains; an alpinist from Orvieto lives secluded in a Japanese Zen monastery.
Carlo Alberto Pinelli has made over 100 documentaries mainly for European TV on ethno-anthropological, historic,
scientific, socio-political, naturalist and adventure themes. Titles to his credit include Hindu Kush (1961), Il dio sotto la pelle (1974) and Sahel ai confini della vita (1985). He currently teaches documentary filmmaking and documentary filmmaking for tourism at the Università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa, Naples.
