During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

La grande stretta: come sopravvivere ai progetti dell'uomo

Fossil fuels have brought unprecedented technological progress and economic growth, but also pollution and global warming. As oil reserves dwindle, modern society's dependence on petroleum for energy is turning into an emergency, and given the United Nations' forecast of a demographic explosion within the near future… The film enlists the aid of world famous environmentalist Lester Brown and Richard Heinberg, author of Peak Everything, to discuss these topics.

Il regista / The Director

Christophe Fauchere (b. France) lives in the U.S. where he has worked in documentary filmmaking for the past 8 years after working as freelance editor. In his films he tries to combine his two main interests: history and cinema, as evinced by Energy Crossroads and The Great Squeeze: Surviving the Human Project, both international award-winning films and broadcast on European TV networks.
