Biodiversity? Boredom in numbers. Pollution? A question of aesthetics. The best antidote to oxygen? Smelling salts from dumping sites. Such is the standpoint of "X-Nature", a daily TV news report on the real emergencies our planet faces which, according to the smiling announcer, are not really as bad as the Cassandra environmentalists would lead us to believe. Grotesquely funny, the film pokes at the bias of the mass media: because the real truth about environmental issues, and many other problems as well, is either packaged or covered up by information agencies.

Stefano Di Lauro works as stage director, composer and writer (his essay La mosca nel bicchiere – La poetica di Carmelo Bene, was published by edizioni I libri di Icaro). Audiovisual and experimental works to his credit include: Ali for Frequent Flyers (2000), a video clip from the installation of the same name by sculptor Alfio Cangiani and photographer Nicola Amato; Dif_ferita – a cube 4 Dido (2001), based on Book IV of Virgil’s Aeneid; Requiem for a Lone God (2003), taken from Gnostic texts; and Antigone tragedia balcanica audiovisiva (2009), an installation exhibited at the Palazzo Ateneo, Bari.
