Cabanyal, a section of Valencia, has been targeted for a controversial redevelopment project that calls for the demolition of the old barrio buildings, declared Heritage of Cultural Interest in 1993, to make room for high-rises. Just like Benidorm, a tourist center with beachfront hotels symbolizing the cementation of Spain's coastline.
Its ironic title alluding to scores of other seaside resorts, the film takes a critical view of urban redevelopment projects overcast by clouds of corruption and speculation. Facing the authorities and profit-hungry investors are the local residents determined to defend their homes and sense of neighborhood.

Gaetano Crivaro (b. Crotone, 1983) gained an interest in filmmaking after moving to Rome in 2001. With the documentary Kryterion (2006) he won a scholarship that enabled him to enroll in the Sentieri Selvaggi school of cinema and graduate from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" with a degree in Communications in 2006. He then worked for the Guerrilla Marketing advertising agency for which he made numerous commercials. Short fiction titles to his credit include Moka & Cigarettes (2007) and Postelevision (2008), both acclaimed on the national festival circuit.
