The Big Ask
Six thousand persons on the beach at Ostend, Belgium, and music by Hooverphonic in a 5-minute clip that calls attention to the need for solving the problem of global warming. The film is an urgent appeal to politicians to avert sure disaster, because in 10 years humanity could be wiped out by the consequences global warming will bring. The solution? Reduce the amount of emissions released into the atmosphere which trigger warming and climatic change. The message is simple: do something before it's too late.
Il regista / The Director
Nic Balthazar (b. Belgium, 1964) appeared on Broadway at age 14. He went on to win TV and radio audiences by conducting cultural and travel programs, along with Ideefix, Europe's first green TV quiz program in 1987. Journalist and writer, his first feature, Ben X (2007), earned him international recognition; his novel Niets was alles wat hij zei (Nothing Was All He Said) and its stage adaptation were both enormously popular.
