A human being is born: what will his eyes see? The wonders of nature, the vastness of biodiversity, the impact of human intervention: pollution, death and destruction. With masterful photography and well-paced editing, Iranian filmmaker Sahand Amirikhaledi constructs an experimental short documentary that in just 7 minutes running time stimulates reflection on man's relationship with nature, where nature is increasingly threatened as shown in the disturbing images of marine birds killed by black tides.

Sahand Amirikhaledi (b. Teheran) has lived in Toronto for the past 10 years. His directorial film debut was with the short documentary Voorje (2008), presented at that 2009 Hot Docs, which he wrote, directed filmed and edited, like his two other titles Tanbour (2009) and Teheran 24 (2009). He is currently working on Ladom.
