First prize winner at the 2008 Rodos Ecofilms, this film gives a gentle portrait of a strong-willed boy. Like other boys his age, 11-year-old Tom leads a normal life: school, friends, football; except for a food intolerance. On his mother’s advice, he follows a raw food diet which comprises only uncooked fruit and vegetables. Not an easy choice having to explain the condition to his schoolmates and avoid the temptation of eating something that could make him ill (like a week-long fever after eating a slice of bread), besides dealing with his mother's protectiveness and her not understanding how cooked food can be harmful.

Anneloek Sollart (b. Amsterdam, 1965) studied journalism and graduated from the New York Film Academy in 1993. After working in advertising and TV, on the series Streetmuseum and Route Hollandaise, she made her directorial film debut with the documentary Boom Boom Viola (2001), about the jazz musician Tony Viola, followed by Crazy Days (2001), Live at the Horsetrack (2002-2003), I am Strong (2004) and the reality show Als de vrouw van huis is (2007).
