A journey to the center of international capitalism: Erwin Wagenhofer, whose We Feed the World was presented at CinemAmbiente 2006, takes us on a behind the scenes tour of global finance. In a protectionist system operating with Mafia-like rules, though wearing a liberalist suit, the governments of the rich countries, the banks and multinationals move and reinvest huge amounts of capital to grow and maintain their interests while the Third World falls deeper into debt and is stripped of its natural resources. Based on expert testimonies, the film reveals the inner workings of the mechanisms driving today's global economy.

Erwin Wagenhofer studied at the Vienna Institute of Technology before working for Philips Austria. Between 1995 and 2000 he taught at the Donauuniversität; since 2002 he is instructor at the Universität für angewandte Kunst, Vienna. His directorial debut film was the short Endstation normal (1981); in 1988 he began collaborating with the Austrian broadcasting network ORF, making fictions and documentary films. Features to his credit include We Feed the World (2005), presented at CinemAmbiente 2006, and Let's Make Money (2008), both earning him numerous international awards.
