CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

Dragonflies

Fondly remembered as being called "dining needles" or "darning needles", dragonflies dart into and out of sight or hover gracefully over water surfaces. But the millenary existence of the 87 Italian species, of the 4000 known, is threatened by land reclaim projects, pesticides, pollution, and intensive water use which are upsetting the delicate ecosystems they inhabit. Through original images, Adonella Marena depicts the life, habits, and oddities of this curious, fascinating insect, an example of nature's extraordinary biodiversity.

Working through the Gruppo Comunicazione Visiva, Adonella Marena popularized women's cinema during the 1980s.

Since 1989 she has made short and documentary films and collaborated with Rai3, ZDF Arte, La7, Planete, Videogruppo, and Documè. Her works include: Il megalite (I989); Okoi e semi di zucca (1994); Facevo le nugatine (1996); Tute Bianche, un esercito di sognatori (2002); Mi piaceva vivere lassù (2003); NOTAV, gli indiani di valle (2005); Non mi arrendo, non mi arrendo! (2006), Il cartun d’le rebelliun-da Venaus a Roma a passo d’uomo (2008).
