CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

Home - La nostra terra

It took 488 hours of filming from helicopters and 217 days shooting in 54 different countries for Yann Arthus-Bertrand to make Home, a spectacular documentary of huge emotional effect, that opens our eyes to the real impact global warming, deforestation, and pollution will have on the earth. Mankind stands at the crossroads between continuing as before or embarking on a new path to revolutionary and eco-compatible choices, the only ones that can avert sure disaster. Following from Davis Guggenheim's An Inconvenient Truth, his acknowledged source of inspiration, celebrated photographer Arthus-Bertrand, in his directorial debut, has created an accurate, compelling portrait, both in content and imagery, that totally engages the viewer.

Photographer, journalist, and environmentalist, collaborator with GoodPlanet.org in the development of projects on
renewable energy sources, Arthus-Bertrand is noted for his naturalistic style in aerial photography, as seen in numerous
series for Altitude, an agency he founded in 1991, and for the UNESCO sponsored La terre vue par le ciel project (1994), besides a touring exhibition and a hugely successful publication on which a feature (2004) of the same name was based and presented at CinemAmbiente 2005.

“Questo film era un progetto che avevo in mente da 15 anni. Tutto ciò che ho visto e imparato mentre volavo sopra la Terra mi ha cambiato. Oggi voglio condividere tutto quello che ho acquisito. Questo film sarà eccezionale e intelligente ma, soprattutto, assolutamente costruttivo. Per farvi un esempio: la cosa importante non che il 50% delle foreste sia scomparso, ma che il 50% ci sia ancora. Quello che è importante oggi è che siamo 6 bilioni di esseri intelligenti che possono agire. Attraverso la qualità delle immagini e dei suoi contenuti, questo film permetterà alle persone di capire che TUTTI abbiamo delle responsabilità e che tutti possiamo agire nel nostro piccolo. Come disse il mio amico Albert Jacquard “essere coscienti che il domani è in arrivo e che ognuno può avere un effetto su di esso è specifico dell’Uomo”.
