Nera - Non è la terra promessa
The sad story of a Nigerian woman lured to Italy with promises of a better life but subjected to violence, crime and poverty when forced to earn her livelihood by selling her body on streets out somewhere in the provinces. Her marriage to an elderly man seems to save her from subjection and misery: a new life awaits her with a poorly paid factory job. A sequel to Nera, Welcome to my World (2007), this personal portrait painted in delicate strokes reveals a hidden world where immigration and marginalization go side by side.
Il regista / The Director
Andrea Deaglio (b. Turin, Italy) studied filmmaking and worked in information technology before making his debut as director and cameraman with the documentary T3 (Una storia d'amore) (2004) in collaboration with Colombre Film, an association that deals with social communication and AV production. His film credits as director include Guatemala (2005), Pierino torna a casa (2006), La ballata del monte Kenia (2006), Oni fig be (2006), Nadia (2006), Dentro (2007), Nera, Welcome to my World (2007), La grande famiglia (2007).
