Biciclette a Copenhagen
Copenhagen with its steady whir of bicycles as seen through the eyes of film author Eric Dyer. A vortex of spinning color images of a group of cyclists, recreating the atmosphere of a city where cars have been displaced by bikes. An experimental short film that makes novel use of the zoetrope, a device that creates an illusion of movement within a series of drawings, combined with 2D and 3D animation techniques.
Il regista / The Director
Animator-inventor, artist and teacher, Dyer earned a masters in fine arts at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County . In New York he directed music video clips and worked as an animator. His works have been seen on MTV, MTV Europe, Discovery Channel and Fox International. He currently teaches at his alma mater and directs short films.
«The process of creating Copenhagen Cycles embodies the Copenhagen lifestyle: both are tactile. The bicycle-riding, café-going, park-lounging existence has one touching and breathing in one’s surroundings, just as the footage-collecting, papercutting, and assemblage stages of my process do. This was all especially significant for me personally, since I come from a society that is often sealed-off and separated by the automobile».
