CinemAmbiente at Vico Canavese

During the whole month of august CinemAmbiente in cooperation with the library of Vico Canavese organizes the film exhibition "CinemAmbiente in Valchiusella". The films will be screened at the Salone Pluriuso (Regione Lime) - free entry. All the events will be introduced by Gaetano Capizzi and Debora Bocchiardo.

Two years in production, shooting locations in 16 countries, 170 different animal species filmed: the bare statistics of Animals in Love, the first documentary film about seduction animal style: techniques, courtship rituals, curiosities from the animal kingdom. From lions in the savannah, to flamingos, to kangaroos, to bugs. A documentary sui generis that offers an unusual peek into how the birds and the bees really do it.

Il regista / The Director

Laurent Charbonnier began his career as TV cameraman on animal documentaries. As director of photography he collaborated on L'Enfant des neiges (1995, Nicolas Vanier), Les Enfants du Marais (1998, Jean Becker), Il popolo migratore (2001, Nicolas Vanier). His directorial debut was the TV reportage Tapage dans la basse cour (2001). Animals in Love is his first feature film.

«Our discreet and human take on the animal world has often reminded us of the behaviour of men and women. This movie brings back man to Nature. A nature to which he belongs along other species. Animals in Love and its ecological approach is also a way for us to fight for this urgent and major issue that is the protection of biodiversity and nature».
