CinemAmbiente in cooperation with Circoscrizione VI - Torino, organizes the film exhibition 'Ecokids 2011', screenings for the primary schools of the city. All the events will be introducedby an environmental expert.
A clash between two civilizations, between different ways of using the ocean’s resources: every year 500 European fishing trawlers outfitted with advanced technologies and an agreement with the Senegalese government worth millions of eurosply the waters off the coast of Senegal. Every day Senegalese fishermen set out in 15,000 pirogues to catch what is left over from this illegal competition, relying on knowledge of sea currents and amulet divination. But tragedy is imminent: expert estimates say that within a couple of decades there will be no more fish to catch.

«A former fisherman starts his shift in a steel mill in Bergamo; an ultrasound probe scans the sea off the coast of Iceland; a witchdoctor prepares amulets for nocturnal fishing in Senegal. In today’s globalized world, ocean fishing reflects the current environmental and social crisis».
