Boog e Elliot: a caccia di amici - Open Season

Open Season

Sony Pictures' debut into the world of animation with an environmental-adventure film. Boog (Martin Lawrence's voice in the original, Pino Insegno's in the Italian version), a domestic grizzly unequipped for survival in the wild meets Elliot ( Ashton Kutcher's voice in the original, Francesco Pezzulli's in the Italian version), a fast-talking mule deer who momentarily upsets Boog's life of Riley. Persuaded by Elliot to leave his comfortable quarters in the park warden's garage for adventure in the great outdoors, Boog's adventures become  life-threatening risks. In the middle of a forest with only three days till the start of open season, Boog and Elliot take a crash course in wilderness survival and team up with newfound woodland friends to escape the hunters' rifle fire. The film focuses on forest protection and is part of the Greenpeace Kids for forest educational project.

Il regista / The Director

regista

Animation film director and storyboarder, Roger Allers worked as director on Oscar-winning The Lion King for Disney and storyboarder for Beauty and the Beast. His short, The Little Match Girl (2007), was nominated for an Oscar.

Jill Culton is a storyboarder and animation film designer. She has worked on such well-known films as Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life.

Anthony Stacchi director and animation screenplayer, he has worked on Curios Gorge, Antz e James and The Giant Peach.

“The idea for the film was suggested by cartoonist Steve Moore, whose daily cartoon strip, ‘In the Bleachers’, often takes up the theme of hunter and hunting and is syndicated in numerous newspapers. We wanted to explore the secret life of animals in order to understand what they’re doing behind our backs. So I asked myself, ‘What does my cat or dog do all day? Watch TV? Open the fridge? And most of all, what do they think of me?’ This is why we put a variety of animals in the film that have a different relationship with humans.”
