An established reality, renewable fuel sources such as bio-diesel, ethanol and vegetable oil are a valuable alternative to gasoline and coal: they are environmentally friendly because of their zero impact on the environment; otherwise unusable exhausted oils can be regenerated, as with bio-diesel; they are economical because they are easily obtained at reasonable prices for the consumer. And it is not by chance that in the United States this enormous social and economic resource is kept hidden while political and economic forces play into the interests of the petroleum multinationals. With Freedom Fuels, Martin O'Brien enlists the testimonials of such celebrities as Daryl Hannah and the legendary countryman Willie Nelson in a accurate portrait of a still unfamiliar yet highly charged sector that will

Il regista / The Director
Hailing from Oakland, California, director-producer Martin O'Brien sees himself primarily as an activist engaged in advocating environmental and social issues. His first documentary, Regarding Medical Marijuana, has been screened at numerous international festivals and shown on Free Speech TV. Freedom Fuels, his second documentary, won the 2006 Environmental Preservation Award at the Artivist Film Festival Hollywood.
