La battuta

The Hunt

The experience of a hunt side by side with the hunters: a long wait in the mist, the wild boar comes into view, a few tense moments, then a shot that shatters the perfect silence of the woods, and a life.

Il regista / The Director

regista

Alessandro Fontana, born in Milan in 1969, is an agricultural entrepreneur. Since 2000 he has run the IpotesiCinema group founded by Ermanno Olmi. Also a film director, he directed Il Demone di Bobbio (2002), Porta Galera (2003), Sogno di una notte di mezza estate nella Pianura Padana (2003), La Valutazione (2004), La Tosse (2005), and Il Divano (2006).

“The Hunt is the story of two days spent with a group of hunters on a reserve in Tuscany, but it is in no way intended to pass judgement on the sport of hunting. When “the protagonists” saw the film, their comment was ‘That’s what hunting is like. Yes, that’s just what hunting is like..”
