Il regista / The Director

Tommaso Cerasuolo (Venice 1972), graphic designer, illustrator, animator, film director of shorts and animated videoclips, plus singer in the rock band Perturbazione, works on a permanent basis as animator for the production group Zenit Arti Audiovisive in Turin. He holds courses on animation and has been in charge of the Animation section of the Valsusa Filmest since 2001. Eifù is the title of his most well-known film.

Marco Fantozzi, videodesigner, lives and works in Turin where he was born in 1975. A partner in the Zenit Arti Audiovisive, he has designed and produced animated films and done work using computer graphics for the web, videos, the theatre and the opera. He writes for the on-line magazine Meccano and teaches animation and video technique. He has made two other videoclips: Ti ho visto in Piazza (2004) and Quando sto con lei (2007).

“The story of the videoclip Animalia was written in 1995, at the time war was raging in Yugoslavia and acts of violence came so close that we began to think that perhaps we had always harboured it deep down inside us. In 1995, Tommaso used to cycle along a road scattered with examples of cruelty to animals every day (…). It therefore seemed natural to protray that story in the light of the spiralling increase in violence that surrounds us today. We support OIPA, the Organization for the Protection of Animals, not in order to educate people, but simply to tell the story of our experience through our song and videoclip.
