CinemAmbiente in cooperation with Circoscrizione VI - Torino, organizes the film exhibition 'Ecokids 2011', screenings for the primary schools of the city. All the events will be introducedby an environmental expert.
In 18th century in the wake of its success a company of Italian comedians arrives at the Peruvian court. Camilla (Anna Magnani), the leading lady, is disputed by a torero, a night and viceroy who pushes to the point of giving her a golden carriage. The local aristocracy disapprove of Camilla and the rest of the company’s scandalous disarray. Disappointed the actress resolves to commit herself to her true passion: acting. Renoir’s first European work after his American period and the Indian episode The River (1951), it was produced by Francesco Alliata’s Panaria Film, it had been originally commissioned to Luchino Visconti
Jean Renoir was born in Paris in 1894, son of the famous painter Auguste Renoir, he starts his career in the mid 20s directing some ten silent films among which Nana (1926). In the 30s he directs some of history of cinema’s greatest masterpieces starting from his first film La Chienne (1931) and other films such as Boudu sauvé des eaux (1932), Les bas-fonds (1936), La grand illusion (1937), La règle du jeu (1939). He spends the 40s in the USA where he will continue working: This Land Is Mine (1943), The Woman on the Beach (1947). Before going back to France to direct his last films (Le caporal épinglé, 1962) he spends time in India (The River, 1951) and Italy (La carrozza d’oro, 1953). He will die in Paris in 1979.
