Co-founder of the Italian ‘Verdi’ political party and their representative leader in Parliament, Alexander Langer opposed himself to the ‘ethnic cages’ and did not give in even when personally threatened. ‘Whoever has visions should see a doctor’ was what the former Federal Councillor, Schmidt, used to say to him. Langer did not take any notice of him. He hanged himself on the Florentine hills in the summer of 1995. His story is told in the context of those days and is interwoven with the testimonies of some of his friends like Adriano Sofri, Daniel Cohn-Bendit and others.
Dietmar Höss was born in Munich in 1959. He studied Architecture for Interior Design in Rosenheim and Political Science in Munich. He has been an independent filmaker since 1995. From 1997 to 2000 he attended the Zelig School of Cinema and Television in Bolzano. Since 2000 he has also been a producer for the Blue Star Film. Among his works may be mentioned Cianci Gatti (2000) and Heimat (2003).
