At the age of 37 Letizia Battaglia leaves her husband, who she married when she was 16. She takes her three daughters with her and becomes a journalist. She finds she also has a passion for photography and justice.Through her pictures she denounces the terrible conditions in the society in Sicily during the big mafia bloodsheds of the 1960’s and 70’s. Because of her courage in documenting and speaking out against injustice, she becomes one of the protagonists of the fight against organised crime. It is a deep and intimate portrait of a woman who fights for freedom..
Daniela Zanzotto is a camera-woman, director and producer. With just a little technical knowledge, she made her first documentary film If These Walls Could Speak in 1998 and then Kissed by Angels in 2001.
