This tells the story of a family with four children who live in a village on the bank of the river Danin – a tributary of the Yang-Tse, in Central China. The river is turned into a lake and the overflowing water is on the point of flooding the village so everybody leaves...soon everything is going to disappear. A few months before the inauguration of one of the biggest dams in the world, similar in size to the Chinese Great Wall, the family finds itself trapped in the dilemmas between tradition and modern life and dreams and memories, which lead them to break up.
