42nd parallel of latitude. At the Andes cordillera in Argentinian Patagonia, gather four different populations El Bolsón, Epuyén, Lago Puelo e El Hoyo. The wind, the mountain, the lake and the calm hours have pierced the souls of the women living at the four cordillera villages, their hads moulded, their skins engraved with wrinkles, their every moment decided upon by the elements. Ellas, Eli, Patricia, Celia, Doña Peta, Andy and Odile live in this spellbound land where harshness of the winter fuses with the warmth of the summer and where man’s and natures agonising solitudes blend with one another.
Il regista / The Director
After working in the dance and theatre environment for the first few years Natu Arpajou turnes to cinema and in 2001 he attends one of Emir Kusturica’s seminars. After numerous experiences working on sets as a director’s assistant, screenplay writer and editor, and television productions he starts working on projects of his own. Among his shorts Interior-Bar-Día (2000), Quiet (2001).
