Non si deve morire per vivere is the testimony of Benito Franza and Albino Stella’s courageous and tena- cious struggle to let the public know about the illness they contracted while working at the Ipca, which is a factory that produces colouring substances in Ciriè, near Turin. The words of the children of those who died give life to a sad chapter of the social and economic history of our country that many want to forget. It is interwoven with the stories of many people’s lives destroyed by the illness.
Daniele Ganaglione was born in Ancona in 1966. He graduated in Hi- story and Review of the Cinema. In 1991 he started collaborating with the National Cinematographic Archives of the Resistence, realizing nu- merous documentaries and short-films. In 2000 he made his debut with the long-running film I nostri anni and, in 2004, directed Nemmeno il de- stino, for which he received many international awards.
