This documentary follows closely six musicians of the Reggio Emilia province, narrating their try to live the American myth through blues music, a trip between Po and Mississippi rivers. But Emiliana is not just a film about music coming from an ideal ground placed halfway between via Emilia and the American West, in fact it wants to be a love deed towards the people living blues as a powerful and extreme dream. Emiliana is a story rooted in the open-handed, hot-tempered Emilia, so able to deeply absorb far away images and sounds, to hand them back so close to our emotions.
Born in Campagnola Emilia (Reggio Emilia) Paolo Lasagni, is a photographer, he has worked for Ligabue and Piero Pelù, he himself is a keen musician and a double bass player. Emiliana is his début as director.
Ferdinando Anceschi, born in Rio Saliceto (Reggio Emilia) musician, his voice has been recently employed in the soundtrack of Velocità massima by Daniele Vicari. This is his first feature as director.
