Nineteen people, coming from all over the world, from distant cultures, speaking different languages, see, feel, know nineteen distinct points of view on life, and they freely narrate them within an extraordinary docu-movie. Among them, the Nobel award Jose Saramago, the director Wim Wenders, Evgen Bavcar, the Slovenian photograph who lost his sight, the neurologist Oliver Sacks, set out amazing revelations on subjective and new findings regarding eyesight; so, it is sketched a world of images reflecting about the “to see or not to see”.

Il regista / The Director

Joao Jardim studied cinema at the NYU, and graduated in Journalism at the Faculdade da Cidade, in Rio de Janeiro. He has worked with film directors like Carlos Manga, Walter Salles Jr, Caca Diegues.Apart from his work as director and documentary editor he has also directed commercials for major Brazilian advertising clients.

Walter Carvalho is regarded as one of the most talented directors of photography in the field of visual arts. Carvalho has made more than 70 films, (including short and feature films), and he has worked with renown filmmakers. He has consistently worked with the film director Walter Salles, with whom he made the films Foreign Land and Central Station. The latter received an Academy Award nomination for best foreign film in 1999. He has won more than 20 awards for Best Director of Photography at film festivals abroad. Janela de alma is Walter Carvalho’s first film as a co-director.
