Cosima Dannoritzer

Born in Dortmund, Germany, in 1965, since 1992 she has made films about history, ecology and the relationship between technology and society for TV broadcasters (BBC, Arte, Deutsche Welle, and Televisión Española) in the UK, Germany and Spain. Her works, screened and winners of awards at several international film festivals, include Rebuilding Berlin (1992), winner of the Journalism Prize of the Anglo-German Society in 1993, the series produced for BBC & YLE (the Finnish Broadcasting Company), Germany Inside Out (2002), If Rubbish Could Speak (2003), The Light Bulb Conspiracy (2010), about the history and impact of planned obsolescence, and The E-Waste Tragedy (2014). She is also co-writer with Jürgen Reuß of Kaufen für die Müllhalde - Das Prinzip der Geplanten Obsoleszenz (2013) about the history of planned obsolescence. Cosima is currently working on a film about the effects of speed and acceleration on society.

 

Maribel Guevara 

She was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, where she studied tourism and dance. After moving to Washington DC in 2005 , she joined the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital and began to help other environmental film festivals as a programming consultant in the US, Europe, and Latin America. In April 2016 she started a new environmental film festival in her native Quito, and now works as a full time programming consultant and operations manager for multiple festivals.

 

 

 

Petra Holzer

She is current director of BIFED - Bozcaada International Festival of Ecological Documentary. With “contra” she was involved in campaigns on disability, irregular migrants, and violence. The documentaries and campaigns she collaborated on have been shown in many countries and TV channels. One of the founders of FIMA Intercultural Video Workshops, she has worked as instructor, curator, and international relations officer at FIMA, National Environmental Script and Production Awards, Antalya Golden Orange International Short Film Festival, and Karşı Sanat. Her articles have been published in various journals and publications.
