Competition categories

Running in the competitions are the best environmental documentaries made in the past two years. The films are judged by national and international juries composed of recognized figures in cinema, culture, and environmental activism.

 

International documentary competition

This category includes the best international feature documentaries.

•Best international documentary award offered by Asja € 4.000,00

•Audience award offered by Iren S.p.A, the main sponsor of CinemAmbiente € 1.000,00

 

International one-hour documentary competition

This category includes the best international feature documentaries with a running time of 60 minutes or less.

•Best mid-length film award offered by the SMAT Group € 2.000,00

 

Italian documentary competition

This category includes the best Italian documentaries.

•Best Italian documentary award offered by CiAl, the Italian consortium of recycling aluminum packaging € 2.000,00

 

Special awards

•Award for the Section “Torino e le Alpi” powered by the Fondazione San Paolo

This award is given in recognition of a film that best presents the environmental and social dimensions of the Alps.

•“Ambiente e società” award offered by the Arcobaleno Cooperative

This award is given in recognition of a film that best presents green economy as an opportunity for employment and social inclusion.

•"Le Ghiande di CinemAmbiente" Award

An annual award has been established by the festival in recognition of a writer who has dedicated a life to learning and writing about the environment and nature. The 2015 "Le Ghiande di CinemAmbiente" award will be presented to Davide Sapienza and Tiziano Fratus.

 

Non-competitive categories

Panorama

Included in this category are films, short animations, documentaries, video clips, and television productions that use an innovative language to address environmental issues. Every year, Panorama presents a wide variety of cultural projects, initiatives and events with a themed focus related to the environment.

Ecokids

This project is addressed to schoolchildren (K-12). Film screenings are guided by educators and invited experts.

Special events

This honor section features films by renowned environmental filmmakers.
